Re:Sound Features the sounds of "Innocence & Despair"

This week's episode of Re:Sound from Third Coast International was billed as "the Singing Show."

All the features were great, but I particularly enjoyed the story about the found sound of the Langley Schools Music Project and its live release "Innocence & Despair."

I was totally captivated by the stark instrumental arrangements and the chorus of young voices singing 1970s stalwarts like "Band on the Run,"  "Saturday Night," and "Rhiannon." I immediately purchased the album for download. Check it out.

A girl, a guitar and an umbrella

Really like Marie Digby's cover of "Umbrella." Simple, clean. Nice acoustic. She even stutter strums near the end but recovers nicely. Interesting contrast to Rihanna's pop-polished, chart-topping hit and Mandy Moore's more somber recitation. Both nice efforts. But I like Ms. Digby's stripped down, bouncy version best.
