Day 5 - write a metamorphosis poem
Open Mic
The old guy,
the quiet guy,
who sat all night
in the back
of the club
with a whiskey
and water,
took the stage
and transformed
into Hank Williams,
not Junior or the Third,
but the original.
“Your Cheatin’ Heart,”
pleading, begging,
coaxing twilight
So pure, so true,
the skinny, pale
kid in the Lou Reed
shirt decided
to skip his turn.
